Our sizes are Italian. Go by the measurements, not the letter.

An Italian S is not an American S, and no conversion table fixes that honestly. What does fix it is two minutes with a tape measure, and it is the single thing that keeps a sweater you liked from going back in the mail.

How to find your size

Take a sweater you already own and like the fit of. Lay it flat on a table, smooth out the wrinkles, and measure it. Then compare those numbers with the charts below and pick the size that comes closest. This works better than measuring your body, because it tells us how you actually want a sweater to sit on you.

You need two things: a sweater you love the fit of, and a tape measure or a ruler.

A — Chest, flat. Straight across the garment, from one underarm seam to the other.
B — Length. From the highest point of the shoulder straight down to the hem.
C — Shoulder. Across the back, from one shoulder seam to the other.
D — Sleeve. On women's pieces, from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff. On men's pieces, from the center of the back neck straight to the end of the cuff, with the sleeve laid out.

The first row of each chart is different: bust and chest are measured on you, around the fullest part, with the tape level and not pulled tight.

All numbers are in inches, with centimeters in parentheses.

Women

Slim fit, close to the body. If you want room, take one size up. Our knitwear is cut the way it is cut in Italy: the garment measures about what the body measures, and the cashmere does the rest. If you are used to American sweaters, ours will feel closer through the chest than you expect.

Women's recycled cashmere. Our women's pieces in recycled cashmere are cut about ¾ in (2 cm) narrower through the chest and the shoulder than the chart above, and about ¾ in (2 cm) longer in the body; they run S through XXL. On one of those, if you are between two sizes, take the larger.

Men

Trim fit. There is room to move, but it is not a boxy American cut. From L up, our letter runs one letter smaller than the one you are used to: our XXL measures like an American XL, and our 3XL like an American XXL. Go by the chest number and the letter takes care of itself.

Men's recycled cashmere. Our men's pieces in recycled cashmere measure the same as the chart above, so take the size you take in the rest of the men's knitwear; they run S through XXL, not up to 3XL.

T-shirts, polos, and vests. Chest, length, and shoulder are the same as the men's chart above; the only thing that changes is the sleeve, which is short or not there at all, so there is nothing to measure. Take the same size you take in a long-sleeved sweater.

A few things the charts do not cover

Scarves, wraps, throws, and most accessories have no size: their measurements are written on the product page itself.

Knitwear is measured by hand, piece by piece, so allow about half an inch either way.

FAQ

How do I wash the cashmere turtleneck?
Hand wash it cold, or use the wool or delicate cycle on your machine. Don’t spin it: press the water out with a towel and dry it flat.

How do I choose between S and 3XL?
The fit is slim, close to the body: if you prefer more room, take one size up. Compare the chest and length measurements in the size chart with a sweater you already own.

Is there anything to pay when it arrives?
No. The price includes duties, taxes, and shipping, and we ship as the importer of record, so there is nothing to pay the carrier on delivery. It ships from Italy by UPS Express, 3–5 business days.

What if it doesn’t fit?
Free returns within 30 days, with a prepaid UPS label. One free return per order; any further return shipping is deducted from the refund. Orders placed in November and December can be returned through January 31.

The yarn is two-ply — two strands twisted around each other before knitting — so the knit holds its shape through washing and pills less than a single-ply would. 100% cashmere, knitted in our own factory in Prato, in the Tuscan textile district.
